MARY ARMITAGE

Playing both saxophone and violin, I have many happy memories of my time in SYM ensembles such as SSYO, SSYWO, SYO and SSYJE. Heading off to university this year to study Social Policy and Criminology, but music will always remain a massive part of my life, that I wouldn't have if it wasn't for the county music service.

FRANKIE AYERS

I first began playing the Euphonium, after completing grade one I moved to the Tuba and Trombone working my way up to grade 8. I had been involved with Suffolk Youth Music for over 10 years having been involved with Saturday morning music school, to Friday night windband and to Suffolk Youth Wind Band and Suffolk Youth Orchestra. Unfortunately I did not carry on musical education to university. I took a path in conducting, being tutored by Elgar Howarth. Since leaving Suffolk Youth Music I have conducted choirs, wind bands and various orchestras around Suffolk. Currently I am musical director for a theatre which performed Les Miserables in 2017. In 2016 I founded an orchestra called the East Coast Sinfonietta, based in Lowestoft, Suffolk.
