Laura is a violinist whose musical grounding was made through Suffolk Youth Music. She studied for a BSc in Human Genetics at The University of Nottingham, and went on to complete an MSc in Audiology at The University of Southampton after leaving the Suffolk Youth Orchestra in 2005. She now works as a Paediatric Audiologist, but plays her violin as much as time allows. Laura has played with a variety of local ensembles including Suffolk Sinfonia (Bury St Edmunds), Wolsey Orchestra (Ipswich), The Sampson Orchestra (Cambridge) and, more recently, East Anglian Chamber Orchestra.

I was a proud member of the saxophone section of Suffolk Youth Wind Band, with tours to Venice and Budapest. Now I work as a musician teaching recorders and sax, specialising in 16thC music, dance and interludes, and performing and teaching renaissance music and dance workshops in schools and festivals around the country. One of my children was a percussionist with both SYWB and SYO, it is fantastic to be able to give something back to such a great organisation.

He is one of Europe's foremost specialists in conducting live to film. In addition to his work as a conductor, he is highly sought after as a composer, arranger and orchestrator.
From 1997-2003 Ben was member of Suffolk Youth Orchestra, including several seasons as principal trumpet, as well as playing with ensembles in West Suffolk.

I learnt French Horn, mostly with John Hemmings, until going to Southampton University, where I read music and achieved BA(Hons) and a secondary Music PGCE.
I have been teaching music since then, and am currently Director if Music at Wycliffe Prep School in Gloucestershire.

I learnt the violin through Suffolk County Music Service when I started Middle School (1999). I attended Saturday morning music school in Lowestoft and also Friday night music school where I played violin in the string orchestra. After beginning to learn the oboe privately, I eventually joined North Suffolk Wind Band and then North Suffolk Youth Orchestra. I later was a member of Suffolk Young Strings and then joined Suffolk Youth Wind Band and Suffolk Youth Orchestra. I am now a primary school teacher in Lowestoft and am music co-ordinator at the school where we have instrumental lessons provided by Suffolk County Music Service.
